What Famous People Live In Coral Gables, FL?

What Famous People Live In Coral Gables, FL?

Hey there, Miami locals and visitors! Ever wonder which celebrities call this fine city of Coral Gables home? Well, wonder no more, as I did some digging and let me tell you, there are some pretty impressive names on this list. Get ready to be starstruck!

NBA Royalty in the City Beautiful

Great NBA player Alonzo Mourning is first up. During his tenure as a member of the Miami Heat, this former athlete fell in love with Coral Gables and made the decision to move there permanently. Who wouldn't want to live in a city with views of lush vegetation and breathtaking Mediterranean architecture? Alonzo probably enjoys the city's excellent golf courses as well. There's nothing better than a game of golf in the Florida sun!

The Queen of Latin Pop Calls Coral Gables Home

Next in line would be the one and only Gloria Estefan. The Grammy-winning singer has, through the years, become one of the icons in Miami—no wonder she chose Coral Gables as her home base. Even better, Gloria and her husband, Emilio, had a restaurant in the city called Larios on the Beach. Now, that is living the dream in Miami!

From the Silver Screen to the Streets of Coral Gables

But the star power doesn't stop there.  Actor Andy Garcia, who starred in "The Godfather Part III" and the "Ocean's Eleven" series of films, lives in Coral Gables. I can just envision Andy walking up the very scenic Miracle Mile and stopping at one of many cafes that line the street to get a Cuban coffee.

Coaching Greatness in the City Beautiful

Not to mention, of course, a coach with the illustrious Miami Heat, Erik Spoelstra. When he is not busy coaching his team to a championship, Erik tends to enjoy the quieter life in Coral Gables. I wonder if he ever runs into Alonzo around town? Those two have a lot of basketball stories to swap!

From Authors to Musicians, Coral Gables Has It All

Among other noted residents are author Dave Barry, who has written volumes about how much he loves Miami, and singer Jon Secada, raised in Miami and educated at the University of Miami. Clearly, there is something about Coral Gables that resonates with several talented souls.

Where Stars Are Born

But it's not just a haven for established stars—Coral Gables has also served as a launching pad for some of Tinseltown's biggest names. Fun fact: Both Sylvester Stallone and Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson attended the University of Miami in Coral Gables. Stallone was a drama major in the late 1960s, while Johnson had a gio with the Hurricanes football team in the early 1990s. Pretty cool to think that these megastars once walked the same streets as Coral Gables residents.

A City of Stars

But the list goes on: Ray Liotta of the classic movie fame of "Goodfellas" went to the University of Miami and lived in Coral Gables. More recently, it's been music stars—in residents include Pharrell Williams, Camila Cabello, and Shawn Mendes.

Sparkly Maid Miami: Keeping Coral Gables Shining Bright

I understand what you're thinking: Coral Gables has to have some fairly tight security and privacy procedures with all these celebs around. And while that could be the case for certain well-known people, the city is actually very hospitable and pleasant.

Actually, I think that Coral Gables' impeccable cleanliness and upkeep are among my favorite features. And a big portion of that can be attributed to nearby companies like Sparkly Maid Miami. So that locals can concentrate on taking in the beauty and charm of Coral Gables, this first-rate cleaning service maintains residences and commercial spaces looking their best. A spotlessly tidy space is something that everyone enjoys, regardless of their celebrity status!

The Bottom Line on Coral Gables' Star Power

That's it—a peek at some of the well-known figures who have called Coral Gables home over the years. Really, though, it should come as no surprise that this beautiful city attracts so many well-known individuals. Coral Gables is a unique town with breathtaking architecture, lush surroundings, a lively culture, and a strong sense of belonging.

Who knows? Perhaps one of the several cultural establishments in Coral Gables or the University of Miami will produce the next big thing. They will have plenty of company in the City Beautiful, that much is certain. Additionally, they may always contact Sparkly Maid for maid services in Miami and with keeping their house spotless!
